If the student is involved in a collision, facing a medical emergency, threatened by another person, trapped in an unsafe position or stopped where there is an immediate danger to life or safety, call 911 first. Roadside assistance is not a replacement for police, fire or emergency medical services.
- Do not stand between the disabled vehicle and moving traffic.
- On an interstate, follow emergency-dispatch instructions.
- Remain behind a safety barrier or properly restrained inside the vehicle when appropriate.
- Do not attempt a tire change or jump start in an unsafe location.
There is no single rule that fits every breakdown. Whether staying in the vehicle or getting out is safer depends on where the car is sitting — when there is immediate danger, follow the instructions emergency dispatch gives you.

- Towing

- Wheel-lock removal

- Additional parts, labor or services beyond the standard qualifying call

- Outside Cincinnati city limits during standard hours, the student price increases by $10–$20 depending on the disabled vehicle's location and travel distance, which normally produces a total of $49–$59. The exact price is provided and approved before dispatch.
- After hours (7:00 PM – 6:59 AM) the student price is $79 inside Cincinnati city limits and $89 outside Cincinnati city limits.
- For locations significantly outside our normal service area, additional long-distance travel charges may apply. Any additional charge is disclosed and approved before dispatch.
- The student price covers one qualifying standard roadside service. We explain additional charges before performing extra paid work whenever reasonably possible.

WHY AL CREATED THE STUDENT ROADSIDE CARE PROGRAM
Al owns Redneck Roadside Tech. He started this program as a father and a grandfather, not as a marketing idea.
He taught his own kids how to understand their vehicles and handle the basics — how to change a tire, how to find the safe jack points, how to check tire pressure, how to connect jumper cables in the right order without hurting themselves or the car. That was normal in his house. He also knows it is not normal in every house.
Plenty of young drivers have nobody to teach them. No parent with the time, no grandparent nearby, no experienced person to call at 11 PM. A student should not end up frightened, stranded or financially punished simply because nobody ever showed them what to do when a battery dies, a tire goes flat, the keys get locked inside or the tank runs dry.
So the program does two things at once: it gives students access to honest, affordable roadside assistance, and it gives them knowledge that may serve them for the rest of their lives. We do not want to roll up, do the work without a word and disappear. When the location is safe and time and roadside conditions allow, the technician explains what happened, what is being done about it and what the student should know for next time.

ROADSIDE HELP THAT ALSO TEACHES
When conditions are safe and the service call permits, ask the technician. Depending on the situation, they may walk you through:
- Where the vehicle's safe jack points are located
- How a usable spare tire is installed
- Why correct lug-nut tightening matters
- How to check the pressure of regular tires and spare tires
- Why spare tires lose pressure while sitting unused
- Correct positive and negative jump-start polarity
- Basic jump-start safety
- Warning signs that a battery may be failing
- What to do while waiting for help
- When roadside assistance is appropriate
- When a tow truck is required
- When the student should call 911 first
This practical explanation is available on request and only when conditions safely allow. It is not certified automotive training, formal driver education, or a guaranteed roadside class. On an interstate shoulder, a dangerous roadway, a restricted area or any other unsafe location, the technician will prioritize immediate safety and completing the service.

High schools, colleges, student-affairs departments, campus-safety departments, counselors, parent organizations and student organizations are welcome to share the Student Roadside Care Program with students and families.
- Schools do not have to purchase a contract.

- Sharing the program does not create a financial obligation for the school.
- Sharing information about the program should not be presented as an official school endorsement unless the school has specifically authorized that wording.

Who qualifies for the Student Roadside Care Program?
Any high school or college student with a valid current student ID — age does not matter, and you do not have to live in Cincinnati. Show the ID to the technician when we arrive. That is the whole verification process.
What services are covered by the student price?
One qualifying standard roadside service: a standard jump start, a standard vehicle lockout, installation of the vehicle's usable spare tire, or emergency fuel delivery including up to 2 gallons of fuel. Towing, winching, collision recovery, tire replacement, mounting or balancing, mechanical repairs, wheel-lock removal, seized or damaged lug nuts, complicated lockouts and fuel beyond the included 2 gallons are not part of the student price.
Does the student need to live in Cincinnati?
