THE TIRE & ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE DIVISION OF REDNECK ROADSIDE TECH
BUILT ON SERVICE. DRIVEN BY PURPOSE.
Redneck Roadside Tech started with one goal: become the tire and roadside crew Cincinnati actually trusts. Not the cheapest excuse. Not the outfit that quotes one price and charges another. The one that answers.
Redneck Roadside Tech is an independent, locally owned mobile tire and roadside assistance company operating out of Norwood, Ohio since day one. The owner is a working tire technician — the same person who answers the phone is the person who shows up with the van. We run 24 hours a day, and handle thousands of tire, battery, lockout and fuel calls a year across Hamilton County, Clermont County and Northern Kentucky.
Built from the road up
FROM A $2 GAS CAN TO A ROADSIDE COMMAND CENTER
Redneck Roadside Tech did not begin with investors, a fleet of trucks, or a corporate office. Al Metcalf Jr. started with a $2 gas can, a handful of tools, a willingness to work, and a belief that stranded drivers deserved better.
In less than a year and a half, Al built Redneck Roadside Tech from the ground up while personally answering calls, working roadside jobs, creating the company's service systems, developing its websites, publishing its information, improving its technology, and handling the work behind the scenes.
What began with basic roadside equipment has grown into a complete roadside service and information center built around what drivers actually need.
Today, Redneck Roadside Tech provides many of the capabilities customers expect from large national roadside companies: direct access to roadside help, mobile tire service, useful service information, realistic arrival expectations, customer communication, GPS-powered tools, safety resources, and clear explanations of available options.
But Redneck Roadside Tech was also built to go further than a traditional dispatch system.
Large national providers commonly operate through call centers, membership rules, standardized scripts, coverage restrictions, predetermined service limits, and layers of corporate approval. As an independent, owner-operated business, Redneck Roadside Tech can evaluate the actual situation, communicate honestly, explain the customer's options, and make practical decisions based on what the stranded driver needs.
Independence does not mean there are no safety, distance, inventory, availability, or service limitations. It means customers receive honest answers directly from someone who understands the work instead of vague promises from a distant call center.
Al has taken what he learned from every service call — what customers ask, what they fear, what information they cannot find, and where traditional roadside systems fall short — and used it to keep improving the business.
Transparent pricing, daytime and after-hours information, service education, GPS-powered communication, Student Roadside Care, and Big Al's Helping Hands were not created in a corporate boardroom. They came from real experience on Cincinnati roads.
RedneckRoadside.com is more than a basic website. It is a growing roadside command center built to help drivers understand their situation, see their options, request service, and know what happens next.
Redneck Roadside Tech may not have the size of a national corporation, but it offers something size alone cannot guarantee: direct accountability, honest communication, flexibility, constant improvement, and an owner personally invested in the customer experience.
Al Metcalf Jr. — Owner, founder and roadside technician at Redneck Roadside Tech
Founded the company
Al Metcalf Jr. started Redneck Roadside Tech in Norwood, Ohio with a $2 gas can, a handful of tools and a phone that he still answers himself.
Works the calls
The person who answers the phone is the person who shows up with the van — mobile tire work, jump starts, lockouts and fuel delivery, day and night.
Built the service systems
Dispatch flow, arrival communication, daytime and after-hours pricing windows, and the service limits published on this site all come from real calls.
Built the websites and information
RedneckRoadside.com, its pricing pages, FAQs, roadside education and GPS-powered location tools were developed by Al alongside the roadside work.
Created the customer and community programs
Student Roadside Care and Big Al's Helping Hands both came out of situations Al ran into on the road.
BIG AL’S HELPING HANDS
Big Al's Helping Hands is Redneck Roadside Tech's community assistance program, named in honor of Al Metcalf Jr.'s father, Big Al.

THE TIRE GUY WITH A MECHANIC'S EYE
Anybody can throw a spare on and drive off. We look at the whole picture: the valve stem, the bead seal, the bent rim, the lug nuts that got hammered on with an impact and never torqued. That's the difference between getting you moving and getting you home safe.
We stay in our lane on purpose. Tires and roadside — no towing, no winch-outs, no engine work. Doing one thing well beats doing ten things halfway.
NO BS GUARANTEED.
ON THE JOB
Real photos from real Redneck Roadside Tech calls around Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky — highway shoulders, apartment lots and driveways at 2:00 AM. No stock photos, no staged shots.

WHAT IT TAKES
2:00 AM
We answer the call.

We show up early.

We step away from our family.

We're always on call.
NO BS, GUARANTEED
That's not a slogan on a van — it's the operating philosophy. Honesty, safety, education and professionalism decide how every call is handled, from the quote on the phone to the lug nuts torqued in your driveway.
- ›Informed customers make safer decisions.
- ›Trust is earned through honesty, not slogans.
- ›Explaining things is part of the job, not a favor.
- ›Every customer deserves to understand what's happening to their vehicle.
- ›Safety comes before speed, every single time.
- ›Doing it correctly beats doing it fast.
- ›Nobody should feel embarrassed for asking a question.
- ›Quotes come before work — not surprises afterward.
